Free Info – Scared Of The IRS – Killer IRS
The secrets are already listed on the topic pages of the site or under the “free advice” tab.
There really is a secret here is not to operate out of fear. Easier said than done. Often people ask me if the IRS will allow them to do certain things. Or will the IRS allow me to have certain benefits, etc. I don’t think of the “IRS allowing” anything when dealing with them. We first establish a solution and then attempt to “sell” it to the IRS. After knowing what options are available to a taxpayer, and what is required for approval of a resolution, added to knowing the information the IRS has on a taxpayer, the history of filing, added to the information on current income, expenses, assets and liabilities, puts a person in a very strong position of negotiation. With all of that information, It’s easier to sell them on your solution.
Another secret is that often a collection officer will make demands of a taxpayer using intimidation. The taxpayer should not argue at this point if they are in disagreement. Just acknowledging the conversation and responding by the due date, will give you time to respond properly. There really is an art to dealing with the IRS. You can’t get that from a book.
Don’t forget to read all the related topic pages on this site for more valuable information gathered over many years of case experience.
