Notice Intend To Levy – CP 504 – We Intend To Levy IRS Notice
The Notice Intend To Levy or (CP 504B) is the final notice of Intent to Levy. It Demands that you pay the balance due now. If you have received the CP 504 notice then you may have failed to respond to the previous collection letters.
The Notice Intend To Levy – CP 504 (Urgent We Intend to Levy on Certain Assets) notice is sent to you to inform you that you will have to make the payment for the outstanding balance within thirty days of the date of the letter. If you fail to pay or make suitable arrangements then the IRS will probably levy on one or more of your assets. The assets that they may levy on can be any assets that you own. Jointly owned assets are usually not levied at first, so they are safe for now.
Receiving a Notice Intend To Levy CP 504 or CP 504B letter means that you have 30 days before the IRS will actually levy your bank account, wages, etc.
If you owe money for more than one tax period, you will receive one of these notices for each period. You may receive this notice even if you have made arrangements to make installment payments, or you have been placed in a “hardship” status. You may get this notice during any advanced stage of collections. As with all IRS collection issues, it’s important to assess what years haven’t been filed, and the balances on each year. We need to know if an amended return will benefit you, if the statute of limitations has passed or is near passing, if your case has been transferred to the high dollar unit, etc. I have a client that we “baby sat” for several months as we watched each year of her liability get zeroed out by the IRS when each year’s statute of limitations expired. Call us at 713-774-4467, and we will show you how to protect yourself from becoming a victim.
